Bandhavgarh National Park is a national park of India, located in the Umaria district of Madhya Pradesh. Bandhavgarh, with an area of 105 square kilometres (41 sq mi), was declared a national park in 1968 and then became Tiger Reserve in 1993. The current core area is spread over 716 square kilometres (276 sq mi).
Bandhavgarh National Park is the tiger reserve with the highest density of the national animal Tiger. Situated in the Umaria District of the state of Madhya Pradesh. Bandhavgarh Park has been derived from the most prominent hillock of the area of Umaria. Bandhavgarh National Park is open for visitors from 1st October to 30 June.
Kanha and Bandhavgarh National Parks are one of the leading national parks in the country. Though costly to visit and difficult to reach, Bandhavgarh is still the best place to spot tigers in the wilderness. The park features rocky hill terrain and dense green valleys and an ancient Bandhavgarh Fort. Along with tigers, park has large variety of wildlife, such as deer, sloth bears, jackals, leopards and birds. It is the best place to start travels in Jabalpur.
